SANDMAN SLIM: Chad Stahelski To Helm Supernatural Novel Adaptation For Studio 8

Time will tell if this one picks up steam but word from Deadline has it that Chad Stahelski is planning his way into another film franchise. For this, we turn to New York Times best-selling author Richard Kadrey's longstanding Sandman Slim novels comprised of nine installments as of 2009 with a tenth in tow for 2018.

Via HarperVoyager:
Supernatural fantasy has a new antihero.
Life sucks and then you die. Or, if you're James Stark, you spend eleven years in Hell as a hitman before finally escaping, only to land back in the hell-on-earth that is Los Angeles.
Now Stark's back, and ready for revenge. And absolution, and maybe even love. But when his first stop saddles him with an abusive talking head, Stark discovers that the road to absolution and revenge is much longer than you'd expect, and both Heaven and Hell have their own ideas for his future.
Resurrection sucks. Saving the world is worse.

What Happened To Monday scribe is adapting the novels following a draft by Kel Symons penned back in 2016 when after Studio 8 acquired the rights. LBI Entertainment’s Patrick Walmsley and Julie Yorn are producing with John Lesher with Chris Goldberg overseeing production for Studio 8 next to Rishi Rajani.

The film adds to the burgeoning director's credits following an extensive career in stunts and second unit direction. Stahelski's next turn at the helm will be John Wick: Chapter Three for its May 17, 2019 release from Lionsgate.
