AFM 2017: Arclight Picks Up German/China-Produced Espionage Thriller, OUT OF CONTROL

It's been nearly a year and a half since we've seen or heard any info on the most recent completion of upcoming actioner, Out Of Control. As it stands, news from Screendaily now reports the Chinese co-production filmed in Germany with Axel Sand (Alarm for Cobra 11) and Richard Lin sharing dual directing duties will now have an audience with buyers this month at the American Film Market with global sales agent Arclight repping.

Toplining is Korean popstar, actor T O.P. (a.k.a. Choi Seung-Hun) who is no stranger to the action genre having starred as early in drector Park Hong-soo's 2013 espionage thriller, Committment, as well as in John H. Lee's 2010 war drama, 71: Into The Fire. The actor is joined by actress Cecilia Cheung (Shaolin Soccer) and actors Michael Trevino (Vampire Diaries), and U.K. actor and martial artist David Cheung (Now You See Me 2).
OUT OF CONTROL follows actress and martial-arts guru Lucy Lin (Cheung) as her visit to a film festival in Berlin is marred by the unwanted appearance of her ex-fiance, Interpol agent Tom Young (T.O.P.). Young is hot on the trail of renowned cyber-criminal Bennet Kayser (Trevino), who's planning a deadly attack on the day of Lin's premiere. As Kayser unleashes a virus that allows him complete control over the fleet of stretch-limousines heading to the red carpet, Lucy finds herself at the villain's mercy - her hopes of survival pinned on the man who left her at the altar all those years ago.
Out Of Control is financed and produced by China's Dreams Of Dragons Pictures along with Action Concept, which happens to be one of Germany's top action and production companies.
“With the talents of pop superstar T.O.P. and the rest of the fantastic international cast bringing the film so vividly to life, this action-packed race around Germany is an edge of your seat ride that is perfect for today’s marketplace,” said Arclight CEO Gary Hamilton. “Axel and Richard are a dynamic team who are exceptional in creating big time thrills and some truly mind-blowing stunts. The film is out of control.”
