Sony Lands A May 2019 Release Date For MEN IN BLACK Spin-Off

More than twenty years later and well over $1.6 billion dollars in its wake, the hit Men In Black franchise is gearing up for a new spin-off with the involvement of Iron Man and Transformers: The Last Knight scribes Matt Holloway and Art Marcum. A May 17, 2019 release date has been stamped for the film as a search for a director goes underway following years of efforts that have since led to the currently-shelved ambitious Jumpstreet crossover, MiB 23 which is reportedly still being developed.
Barry Sonnenfeld directed the earlier trilogy headlined by actors Will Smith and Tommy Lee Jones as members of a covert organization of black-clad agents who mitigate and monitor Earth's unseen coexistence with aliens while battling extraterrestrial foes. The two actors who have gone on to star in recent titles (i.e. Smith in Suicide Squad and Jones in Jason Bourne) are unlikely to return while the film sets out for a story of its own with new characters and a scope that spans as exemplary a…

It's been a few years since we last learned that actress/director Elizabeth Banks would helm a theatrical reinstatement of classic television property, Charlie's Angels. Based on the popular ABC series from 1976 to 1981, Charlie's Angels centered on three women, accompanied by their associate, Bosley, who work various assigmments as private investigators for the Townsend Agency at the behest of actor John Forsythe's speakerphone voice.
McG directed two quirky feature contemporary film adaptations in 2000 and 2003 which transitioned the same narrative whilst paving the way for "Destiny's Child" music fandom and riding the coattails of Hong Kong crossover fight a…

THOR: RAGNAROK Gets A Glorious Final International Trailer

Hope remains for all things Akira-related with the most recent spurt of optimism welcomed by the possible addition of director Taika Waititi into the mix. As it stands, his touch on the property wouldn't likely be very distant and equally characteristic of the tone and texture we've been acquainting with in the various trailers for his next big feat, Thor: Ragnarok which opens on November 3.

It's an exciting time for comic book fans and for an equally rousing spectacle with actor Chris Hemsworth starring opposite Cate Blanchett as the villainess Hela. Tom Hiddleston, Mark Ruffalo, Tessa Thompson, Karl Urban and Jeff Goldblum make up the remainder of the cast for the film's release in all its dazzling, nostalgically tethered fantasy action glory with Avengers: Infinity War arriving next year as well.

Comic Book released an exclusive international trailer which you can view below. It's the final trailer so take it all in along with all the current and forthcoming TV …

Hit Fantasy Sci-Fi, YOUR NAME, Is Getting A Live-Action Adaptation

Distributors like Funimation, Huaxia and Madman sure found themselves in great straits since late last year with the rollout of Shinkai Makoto's hit anime feature, Your Name. The latest release is coming on Blu-Ray and DVD on November for U.S. audiences following its successful limited theatrical run back in April - a terrific prospect in light of news that broke on Wednesday for the latest pairing of Paramount and Bad Robot for a live-action adaptation.

Obviously something like this will hit a sour note for anyone who's paid attention to the dialogue on the treatment of Asian IPs and films like Ghost In The Shell and Death Note are all recent examples of this. The choice to do an adaptation of this nature does bring some interest, however, and so one can only hope that the film will acquire all the right ingredients needed to make it work. I still need to see Shinkai's film and I'll be sure to do that before long.

At any rate, peep the announcement below:

Cameron And Miller Discuss The TERMINATOR Reboot; Plots A Summer 2019 Release

I'll be the last person to invest in any upheaval between filmmakers as much as those keen on what sci-fi auteur James Cameron has to say this week pertaining to Wonder Woman - except that I absolutely had fun seeing it this summer and I'm looking forward to the sequel. For this, we turn to more pertinent news regarding the current progress he's now making with director Tim Miller on the future of the forthcoming Terminator trilogy finale.
Cameron is currently at the helm for a slate of Avatar sequels through 2025 but is also assisting Miller for the ambitious new Terminator trilogy starring actor Arnold Schwarzenegger whose title portrayal of the time-traveling cyborg killing machine from the future made him a household name between 1984 and 1991 with The Terminator and Terminator 2: Judgement Day. He'll be joined once again by actress Linda Hamilton who will reprise her role as Sarah Connor as seen in battle ready succession in the 1991 sequel with a story that will…

Azure and Warner Bros. India are currently forging a line-up of titles for local production, including a number of remakes and the latest on the roster is one of Andrew Lau and Alan Mak's 2002 crime thriller, Infernal Affairs. The film was the first of a trilogy offset with a role reversal tale centered on two men from both sides of the law working as moles infiltrating the triads and the Hong Kong police.
Martin Scorsese adapted the tale for 2006 crime drama, The Departed starring Leonardo DiCaprio, Matt Damon, Jack Nicholson, Vera Farmiga and Mark Wahlberg and eventually earned an Oscar for Best Picture Oscar among its accolades. WB TV was attached to that film's advancement as a series for Amazon a little over a year ago with Jason Richman developing a script and while there's been nary a word since, that doesn't mean it's not happening.
However, an Indian remake wouldn't lose its appeal with audiences given the right cast and a look that will undoubtedly …

ICHI THE KILLER Gets A Digitally Restored 4K Bloodbath From Well Go USA Starting This November

It was back in May ahead of the Cannes Film Festival that news broke of a forthcoming remastering and re-release of film auteur Miike Takashi's manga adaptation hit, Ichi the Killer. The controversial ultra-violent crime horror scored a cult following after its 2001 and having only been shot on Betacam and only coverted 35mm film at the time, new technology now deems it possible for a more crisp and pristine finish.
Restoration of the film was handled by L’Immagine Rittrovata Asia, the Hong Kong offices of Davide Pozzi's Bologna, Italy-based film restoration lab which opened to a lucrative streak of restoring Asian film in the wake of bolstering online video demand. Since then, the long-awaited announcement of its acquisition news was made over the weekend with word that Well Go USA have officially acquired distribution rights to the new 4K restoration now dubbed Ichi The Killer: The Digitally Restored Director's.

AJIN: DEMI HUMAN Gets An English-Subbed Trailer For Its Singapore Release

I've seen some okay signs with respect to release news regarding live-action adaptations. Sakurai Gaimon's 2012 sci-fi action horror manga publication, Ajin: Demi Human, is one I'm amply hyped for in its latest treatement from Bayside Shakedown film series and Shaolin Girl helmer Motohiro Katsuyuki and so I'm compelled to help keep the excitement going on my end with the film's Singapore release on October 12.

For this, the latest trailer from Encore Films comes nice and English subbed for not-so-fluent types like myself in lieu of its September 30 release in Japan. The subs lend much more context here so you're not entirely lost in the imagery and spectacle, although the imagery and spectacle aren't don't exactly come dead last. It's an explosive story to follow from start to finish; I speak of the anime with respect to what we're offered in the trailers that have rolled out but Motohiro looks like he's handled himself pretty well on this. …
