RLJ Entertainment Picks Up Action Adventure Thriller, BUSHWICK

Fresh out of Sundance and emerging out on the world stage is the new dystopian action thriller, Bushwick. The usual spate of reviews are now making the rounds while word has it from The Wrap that RLJ Entertainment is staking its claim for the film's U.S. release in a seven-figure deal brokerered with XYZ Films's own Nate Bolotin alongside WME Global.

Cooties helmers Cary Murnion and Jonathan Milott directed the film which casts Dave Bautista as an ex-Marine next to lead Brittany Snow as a young girl bound for her grandmother's house and desperate to survive amid a deadly cessation uprising by a Texas militia. Nick Damici and Graham Reznik wrote the script with Angelic Zambrana, Jeremie Harris, Myra Lucretia Taylor, Alex Breaux and Arturo Castro also starring, and host to a soundtrack by indie hip-hop artist, Aesop.

“RLJ Entertainment is a fearless distributor that specializes in releasing unique and courageous projects,” said Murnion and Milott. “Films like ‘Bushwick,’ and their 2015 release, ‘Bone Tomahawk,’ show their passion and commitment for working with filmmakers who challenge the conventions of genre films. We are thrilled about this partnership.”
Bautista also executive produced the film along with Jonathan Meisner, along with Todd Brown and Nick Spicer of XYZ Films whose own Bolotin produced the film with Adam Folk of Bullet Pictures and Joseph Mensch of Mensch Productions.
