Jackie Chan Leads The Voice Cast For THE LEGO NINJAGO MOVIE

A whole line-up of LEGO-inspired movies are in the works following the hit success of The LEGO Movie from Phil Lord and Christopher Miller, including The LEGO Batman Movie which opens next February. One other title now making the rounds courtesy of the events over at Licensing Expo 2016 in Nevada is Tron: Uprising helmer Charlie Bean's The LEGO Ninjago Movie, based on the popular toyline and with an already-running series iteration of its own on Cartoon Network.

Brickset reportedly unveiled new details on the film and its cast late last week which otherwise confirms the first-billed star of many a title between now and next year, action star Jackie Chan who himself is no stranger to voice-over artistry with such projects as cartoon series, Jackie Chan Adventures, and Dreamworks's Kung Fu Panda trilogy. Chan will play Master Wu, while Now You See Me 2 co-star Dave Franco will play Lloyd, followed by Ant-Man and War On Everyone star Michael Peña in the voice-over role of Kai, Neighbors 2: Sorority Rising co-star Abbi Jacobson as Nya, Silicon Valley vets Kumail Nanjiani as Jay and Zach Woods as Zane, and Saturday Night Live's own Fred Armisen as Cole.

Ninjago is the story of six young ninja tasked with defending their island home, called Ninjago. By night, they’re gifted warriors, using their skills and awesome fleet of vehicles to fight villains and monsters. By day, they’re ordinary teens struggling against their greatest enemy: high school.
Lord and Miller are producing as are Roy Lee and Dan Lin with Ninjago: Mastes of Spinjitsu scribes Dan Hageman and Kevin Hageman penning the script for its September 22, 2017. Check out the cast line-up from the Licensing Expo courtesy of Brickset.
