Vince Vaughn Cast In S. Craig Zahler's BRAWL IN CELL BLOCK 99

S. Craig Zahler, the director of the award-winning Western horror thriller, Bone Tomahawk was previously attached to direct MadRiver Pictures's Breaking The Empire State back in January. If you've been tracking that project, then it looks like that one will have to wait a bit longer with news on a new action thriller set to go into production later this year.

For this, we turn to actor Vince Vaughn whose recent stint in director Peter Billingsley's father/daughter crime pic, Term Life opens in select theaters on April 29. The actor, most prominently known for comedy roles in films such as Wedding Crashers and The Watch will now continue his foray into action with Zahler's own script in Brawl In Cell Block 99; Vaughn will star as a down-and-out former boxer and flailing auto mechanic whose last ditch effort to make some money at the behest of an old buddy and his unsavory cohorts violently lands him in prison, which ultimately becomes ground zero for the biggest fight of his life.

Current other casting info is unknown. Caliber Media is producing with XYZ Films serving as the executive producers as well as the film's international sales agent at Cannes next month.
