Post WWII Action Thriller, THE OUTSIDER, Casts Jared Leto

Actor Jared Leto is already putting out some awesome vibes with a solid look for today's iteration of classic DC villain, The Joker, for David Ayer's Suicide Squad which opens in August. He's a solid actor and thankfully this bodes well in time for Land Of Mine helmer Martin Zandvliet's forthcoming English-language debut, The Outsider, from Waypoint Entertainment and Limson Entertainment who are financing.

The new action thriller sees Leto starring as a American solider imprisoned by the Japanese during World War 2. When he succeeds in escaping with the help of his Yakuza cellmate, his freedom lures him into the dangerous criminal underworld, leaving him obligated and in service of the Yakuza in order to earn their respect amd repay his debt. Andrew Baldwin, writer of the upcoming Idris Elba actioner, Bastille Day, wrote the script with Waypoint's Ken Kao and Linson's Art and John Linson producing.

Production for The Outsider begins this Fall.
