KEEP CALM, Mike Binder Is Directing His Debut Action Novel For New Line

Multifaceted and acclaimed filmmaker Mike Binder is triggering a throwback moment for me. We're talking about someone who directed one of the wackiest comedies ever erected in the 1990's, Blankman, and lately in recent memory he's polished up quite nicely.

Signature dramas such as Reign On Me and Black And White are worth noting to that end, and now it appears he's begun making headway with his forthcoming debut action novel, Keep Calm. Henry Holt & Co. is publishing the new literary in February and word has it from Deadline that New Line Cinema has acquired the rights to the film which, in turn, Binder will write and direct.

The book deals with a plot replete with intrigue and espionage when former Michigan cop, Adam Tatum, gets a golden opportuntity to attend a high-stakes conference at 10 Downing Street in London where the Prime Minister's office is located. When a bomb goes off leaving the wounded, a manhunt ensues leaving Tatum fighting for his family while on the run in unfamiliar territory with the chancellor of the exchequer and an MI-6 agent hot on his tail.

Atlas Entertainment’s Charles Roven and Alex Gartner are producing the new thriller with New Line's Richard Brener spearheading the production.
