Watch A New Promo For MARCO POLO: ONE HUNDRED EYES
Benedict Wong and Tom Wu (right) in "Marco Polo" (Netflix)
Hopefully by now you've managed to catch all of Netflix's original series, Marco Polo since its December 12 debut last year. Lorenzo Richelmy stars in the title role inspired by the life and legend of the young 13th century explorer with a story packed full of drama, intrigue, lust and danger in the tumultous millieu of Kublai Khan's court, and to no understating at all.
The show pushed it fair share of envelopes with this one under the guide of creator John Fusco with a number of interesting characters, including the role of blind warrior monk and martial arts expert, One Hundred Eyes, played vibrantly by actor Tom Wu who now appears in a new promo for the show's spin-off, Marco Polo: One Hundred Eyes. The show airs on December 26 only on Netflix, and again, I sincerely hope you've caught the show first and foremost, because it's one of the most rich and entertaining shows to date and invariably deserves a second season which recently wrapped principal photography this month for next year.
Trust and believe - see the show and mark your calendars for next Saturday. Watch the new promo below along with a featurette from a few weeks ago.
The past year or so have lended an ample opportunity to familiarize myself with the work of actor and producer Alexander Nevsky in lieu of his upcoming April 28 U.S. release, Black Rose. The film marks his directorial debut wherein he also stars in a formula slightly different from his usually known action star persona from his film career in Russia, and joined by none other than actress Kristanna Loken.
With the film a little over a week away from its limited theatrical release courtesy of ITN, we've already had the pleasure of sharing questions with one of the film's guest stars, actor Matthias Hues in which he delves deeply into his career history, progression and plans for the future. The same goes for Loken who now takes center stage in this week's interview following Hues which also briefly highlights something interesting about the new movie, as well as a little about herself in the years since making strides as the formidable cybernetic supervillain in Terminator …
Currently stemming from Florida's independent film scene is Victor Rios with his directorial debut, Fury Of The Dragon. Rios helms from the creative auspices of 333 Pictures and Frank Films, and cinematographer Armin Alic who co-helmed the 2015 indie action thriller, Room 236., and with a cast that brings actor Lilo Brancato and Wade Williams to the forefront of the tale of a mysterious vigilante on the streets of America and a detective who may or may not be out to stop him.
The film is currently in production with plans currently set for its own trilogy and it's early days at the moment. In the meantime, peep the teaser below and stay tuned for more info as it arises.
It was to be expected since its confirmation in late 2015, and now it looks as if things will officially take shape for the spin-off corner of Universal Pictures's Fast And Furious saga. On Friday, new report from Deadline presented news on good terms that the studio is keen on efforts to manifest a spin-off that will join action movie stars Dwayne Johnson and Jason Statham in their own movie with a script by franchise scribe Chris Morgan.
The news comes following the latest release of the eighth installment of the high speed action movie franchise, The Fate Of The Furious, and while I won't divulge the specific twists and details that outline the prospects of this union, the film did greatly in invoking a buddy element that would bode well for both actors in their current positive chemistry. Ironically it also comes in the wake of other news that the film would have been signaled by an end credits scene filmed by producer Neal Moritz with Johnson and Statham featured which F…
