UNDEFEATED: THE ROCKY MARCIANO STORY Casts Jeremy Renner To Lead

It's an era of boxing movie fandom nowadays, with momentum driven by the successes of films like the recent releases of Antoine Fuqua's Southpaw and Ryan Coogler's Creed earlier this year. As we speak, there are other titles slowly coming to fruition and the list continues now with word that actor Jeremy Renner is ready to take his fight to the ring.

According to THR, Renner is tapped to play Rocky Marciano in the new film, Undefeated: The Rocky Marciano Story. Morris S. Levy, who owns the rights to Marciano's life, is producing the film from a script by Samuel Franco and Evan Kilgore which will focus on Marciano's life as a Massachusetts native from childhood through his prominent career as an undefeated heavyweight champion for four years prior to his untimely plane crash death in 1969.

The film is currently seeking a director.
