Cain's Kung Fu Actioner, LEGION OF ONE Gets Co-Production Backing From China

The Next Karate Kid and Young Guns helmer Christopher Cain's attachment to the new film, Legion Of One, has been in the works for some time now. A pitch promo was filmed back in 2013 over at KCW Studios as the brain child of Gung Fu Grandmaster Joel Castillo and it's finally picking up some movement in lieu of film market events overseas last week.

According to Screendaily, Beijing Galloping Horse Group is co-producing the film with Cain's US-based Angry Monkey Entertainment, which centers on a foreign orphan raised among Shaolin to become a kung fu master. The film is just one of two co-productions between both companies, with this one also attaching Karate Kid trilogy and 2010 reboot producer Jerry Weintraub as executive producer.

There's no word yet on who will star, and the short pitch isn't available anywhere online at the moment, but I'll keep an eye out as things move forward.
