The film marks the second stint for the actor and director since the 2011 mystery thriller, Unknown, as well as another busy year for the actor who will appear this May in Seth MacFarlane's A Million Ways To Die In The West, with developments currently being made for his upcoming return to the set with Olivier Megaton for Taken 3.

BATMAN VS. SUPERMAN Nabs Eisenberg For Lex Luthor And Irons Alfred J. Pennyworth

Well, I spent the past few weeks not writing much of anything about the new Batman vs. Superman movie due to all the rumormongering about actor Ben Affleck (something about a leg injury or whatever), followed by reports of its initial release date pushed back to 2016. Later reports debunked all the fuzz, of course, and rest assured we do, in fact have an earlier release date with a confirmed cast to accompany the film's place in the developing DC Cinematic Universe, currently with a hopeful Justice League film in addition to actress Gal Gadot's confirmed three picture deal as part of the plan toward her standalone Wonder Woman film.

Pain Runs Deep In The New Trailer For PUNCTURE WOUNDS

Lionsgate's newest trailer has gone viral this week for the upcoming March 11, 2014 release of revenge action thriller, Puncture Wounds. The film has been a noted passion project for its lead action star, martial artist and MMA celebrity Cung Le for several years now since its earlier conception as its former title, A Certain Justice. To be honest though, the first title sounded like a better seller. In hindsight, however, the name change probably won't affect the film's delivery as a whole while action fans have yet another reason to enjoy action movies going into the new year, headlined by directors Giorgio Serafini and James Coyne.

Sun Wukong, (The Monkey King) is a monkey born from a heavenly stone who acquires supernatural powers. After rebelling against heaven and being imprisoned under a mountain for 500 years, he later accompanies the monk Xuanzang on a journey to India. Thus, according to legend, Buddhism is brought to ancient China. This much beloved story, is as much a part of Asian culture as The Iliad and The Odyssey or The Wizard of Oz are to the West. This first installment in a trilogy of live action 3-D movies is actually a prequel to The Journey To The West, the much told story of the Monkey Kings adventures on the road to India. The Monkey King: Havoc In The Heavenly Palace will be released in the U.S. as The Monkey King. The first movie is the origins story -- beginning with the birth of Sun Wukong and ending with his imprisonment for his crimes under the Five-Peaked Mountain. Along the way he acquires incredible powers, battling the armies of the gods and the armies of the demons to find his rightful place in the Heavens. It is a classic story of the scorned underdog who acquires great abilities but uses them recklessly and ultimately must pay a huge price to find redemption. The Monkey King captures the drama, beauty, humor and fantastic action of the folk legend and brings it to the screen in a way never before possible.

While there are a few Dragonball-related fan-film efforts being made for the new year to counter some of the disappointments still resonating from the James Wong-directed 2009 film, Dragonball: Evolution, some would argue this latest bit from independent filmmaker and comedy impressario Ryan Higa in Dragon Ball Z Fight In Real Life, may be one the best live-action renditions of Akira Toriyama's classic Shonen Jump manga publication and anime to date.
