Jason Statham Leaps Into Action In A New Poster For WILD CARD

Planning to hit the movies next year? Well, you might as well add another to your watch list if you're heavily into bonafide action star Jason Statham now leading the way for a good serving of cracked ribs, broken noses and crippled egos in the upcoming release of the new crime thriller, Wild Card.

The film revamps the more controversial 1986 Burt Renyolds starrer based on author William Goldman's 1985 novel, "Heat", and we finally got a glimpse of what that would look like in the latest international trailer which you can see at the bottom of the page. Hopefully the fans will be there this time around as Statham continues to carry his own weight as an action star in post-Transporter phase, lest we end up with the same results with Parker and Hummingbird (a.k.a. Redemption) last year, and both were really good movies.

Anyway, the film has a second poster for its U.S. release. Take a look:

via IGN:
Nick Wild (Jason Statham) is a Las Vegas bodyguard with lethal professional skills and a personal gambling problem. When a friend is beaten by a sadistic thug, Nick strikes back, only to find out the thug is the son of a powerful mob boss. Suddenly Nick is plunged into the criminal underworld, chased by enforcers and wanted by the mob. Having raised the stakes, Nick has one last play to change his fortunes…and this time, it’s all or nothing.
Stanley Tucci, Sofía Vergara, Milo Ventimiglia, Michael Angarano and Anne Heche round out the cast with a script by Goldman and action direction by Corey Yuen (The Transporter, Rise Of The Legend) and choreography by Brad Martin (Safe, Homefront) and Ron Yuan (Black Salt, Black And White 2). Statham is producing under his SJ Heat Productions, LLC banner with Steve Chasman, and reunites with The Expendables 2 and The Mechanic helmer Simon West who directs.

Wild Card is releasing in France as Joker on January 14 before getting a U.S. digital and theatrical release two weeks later.
