STAR WARS: THE FORCE AWAKENS Launches Its Official Teaser!

Move over, fake trailers! Fans can now get a glimpse of the official new teaser for director J.J. Abrams's new trilogy reboot, Star Wars: The Force Awakens, courtesy of Apple. 

The teaser is also getting a theatrical screening in select theaters as well, and with a little over a year longer before its release, the wheels are already turning with further developments expected for one of the upcoming Star Wars spin-offs from director Gareth Edwards and writer Gary Whitta, which may or may not make it a heist movie depending on whether or not you believe the latest rumors; That spin-off arrives on December 16, 2016, one year before Looper helmer Rian Johnson's take on the second of the new trilogy which is expected for a 2017 release. In the meantime, followers of this long-enduring franchise can expect more gems in the coming months regarding what the trilogy itself, in which case, this teaser is kicking things off to an impressive start; Tie Fighters, Tatooine, Stormtroopers, the re-emergence of the Sith, newly refurbished lightsabers, lasers, and a flyby from the Millennium Falcon? Why not?
Star Wars: The Force Awakens, opens in theaters December 18, 2015. Star Wars: The Force Awakens is directed by J.J. Abrams from a screenplay by Lawrence Kasdan & Abrams, and features a cast including actors John Boyega, Daisy Ridley, Adam Driver, Oscar Isaac, Andy Serkis, Academy Award winner Lupita Nyong’o, Gwendoline Christie, Crystal Clarke, Pip Andersen, Domhnall Gleeson, and Max von Sydow. They will join the original stars of the saga, Harrison Ford, Carrie Fisher, Mark Hamill, Anthony Daniels, Peter Mayhew, and Kenny Baker. The film is being produced by Kathleen Kennedy, J.J. Abrams, and Bryan Burk, and John Williams returns as the composer. Star Wars: The Force Awakens is Episode VII in the Star Wars Saga.
