[UPDATED] Check Out Entertainment Weekly's New TERMINATOR: GENISYS Promo Pics!
The past two days have been nothing short of active in lieu of recently-revealed promotional pics from Entertainment Weekly's exclusive coverage of director Alan Taylor's trilogy reboot starter, Terminator: Genisys. Based on EW's coverage, the film, writen by Patrick Lussier and Laeta Kalogridis, will forsee a revamp of the story that centers on iconic heroine Sarah Connor's orphaned upbringing beginning at the age of nine years old upon the arrival of a Terminator who becomes her "guardian" who she addresses as "Pops". Actor Arnold Schwarzenegger, who has either starred in or appeared in all previous Terminator films dating back to helmer James Cameron's successful first in 1984, is returning to reprise the classic role as the killer-cyborg from the future whose living tissue, sitting atop his metal alloy, has become the segway for the Terminator's "aging" process while co-existing with mankind.
On Thursday this week, more details are being revealed by way of EW from the director, who says the new film will re-enact the Terminator's electrifying arrival in 1984 at the Los Angeles Griffith Observatory from the first film. "It's the holy grail of visual effects," Producer David Ellison told EW. "You create a walking, breathing human that doesn't exist." Of course, no great action thriller can exist without a great villain, and so the producers are keeping an extra tight lid on that detail, except for at least one hint they shared about the particular new villain in the film, describing what Comingsoon.net wrote as "a man-machine hybrid" which they hope will become a major stepping stone in visual effects delivery in addition to semi-digitally reviving Schwarzenegger's youth. "Part of the challenge is to dazzle people with something they haven't seen before," Taylor said. "There are elements in our main villain that are straining the capacities of our brilliant visual-effects people. So that's a good sign."
July 1, 2015 is the new date for Terminator Genisys from Paramount Pictures and Skydance before releasing the remaining two on May 19, 2017 and June 29, 2018. Schwarzenegger joins actress Emilia Clarke and actors Jason Clarke, Jai Courtney to lead the cast along with J.K. Simmons, Dayo Okeniyi, Byung-hun Lee, Michael Gladis, Sandrine Holt and Matt Smith starring. You can catch a handful of the cast in brand new promo pics from Entertainment Weekly just below.

Fantasia 2018's second wave of titles arrived on Thursday and the first thing that stood out to me in a social media post was the name Cynthia Rothrock. That said all I needed to know to look further into the raft of titles, segments and events made public before the full line-up announcement on July 7 and as expected, the programme is turning out to be quite the feat.
Erik Matti's hotly anticipated BuyBust is pretty much an all-in factor for the hardcore action fans already lined-up for its August 10 North American release from Well Go USA. The Witch: Part 1. The Subversion starring Kim Da-Mi was another surprise in recent weeks showcasing a rather awesome trailer for I Saw The Devil writer Park Hoon-Jung's latest feature directing effort.
Also in tow are Sam Elliott in The Man Who Killed Hitler And Then The Bigfoot, Searching starring Jon Cho, and awards and celebrations of the aforementioned Rothrock as well as other screenings like Victor Vu's Loi Bao which I'…
Another headlining rematch is on deck for Wilson Yip's Ip Man 4 with Jackie Chan apparently set to appear opposite star Donnie Yen. This little detail, by way of a report on Wednesday at Jaynestars cites local news sources, confirms that filming has wrapped for the fourth installment in which Chan will play a respected Chinatown Big Brother amid the story setting that lands our title hero in the U.S. alongside martial arts progeny Bruce Lee.
Yen and Chan have shared the screen together a few times in Shanghai Knights (2003) and The Twins Effect 2 (a.k.a. Blade Of Kings) (2004). The two are joined by Paradox co-star Chris Collins and Vanness Wu of Star Runner fame, both who share respective screen history with actor Scott Adkins who also stars.
Oddly enough and despite viral posts, the report also suggests Ip Man 3 co-star and Kung Fu League headliner and most-noted Bruce Lee persona in recent memory; Danny Chan may be sitting out the role this time around.
A late 2018 or early 20…
Here's a little something to bare in mind for a potemtial future Hit List entry: Enter John Fallon of The Shelter, American Muscle and upcoming Heretic helmer, and newcomer, actor and martial artist Marc Natoli who've since completed their work on Paul Allica's new feature venture, The Siege Of Robin Hood on which Fallon served as co-star and producer.
Going forward, they now turn their attention to the forthcoming July shortfilm production, The Proposal. The two are joined by Neighbors actress Kahli Williams with a script from Fallon, and Ben Whimper, best known for producing projects like shortfilms Quanta and Arrowhead, and now staking his claim at the helm to direct. When gun for hire and all around tough customer Mason Stone (Marc Natoli) takes his long time girlfriend Emma (Kahli Williams) out on the town with the intent of popping the big question, he finds his proposal plans rudely interrupted by a group of highly skilled assassins who want him dead. What's a …
