The New Trailer For Special ID. You're Welcome.

In what can solely be described as one of the biggest, most hyped action films of 2013, international action star Donnie Yen is back on the big screen with the upcoming film Special ID, directed by Clarence Fok. The new trailer below comes after more than a year since the film began a production mired in a long and winding series of bitter feuds between fellow actors and celebs, and a lawsuit from the film's former producer.

Amidst it all, casting announcements naming Andy On and Collin Chou, along with teaser posters and set pics, and the promise of a 10-minute finale featuring a "raw and dirty street fight" have kept the film alive for fans everywhere. And with lead actor/producer/action director Yen and his team sharing the on-set genius with legendary stunt coordinator Bruce Law, today's juicy footage brings resolve for a film that has been a long time coming.

Hopefully though, everyone in the film industry will see a lesson in all this, lest they wish to end up with another movie for us that shares the unfortunate fate that this one did.

Special ID (a.k.a. Special Identity) is also executive produced by Peter Pau, and produced by Yong Er, with actors Hanyu ZhangKun YangTian Jing and Qi Daji rounding out the cast.

The film currently has a pending North American release date thanks to its acquistion by Well Go USA. The film will release domestically on October 3, 2013, courtesy of Easternlight Films.

Yen takes on the role of Zilong Chen, an undercover police officer deep within the ranks of one of China’s most ruthless underworld gangs. The leader of the gang, Xiong (Collin Chou – JET LI’S FEARLESS, THE FORBIDDEN KINGDOM, THE MATRIX REVOLUTIONS, THE MATRIX RELOADED), has made it his priority to weed out the government infiltrators in his midst. Struggling to keep his family together and his identity concealed, Chen is torn between two worlds.

Upping the stakes, as Chen’s undercover comrades are being dealt with, one by one, Chen fears his days are numbered. Now, he must risk everything to take down the organization and reclaim the life he lost when he took on this perilous assignment. As the action mounts, Chen must do everything he can to protect the SPECIAL IDENTITY he wishes he never had before it’s too late.
