A Former U.S. Seal's Story Gets Told In The Upcoming Film, LONE SURVIVOR

Mark Wahlberg, Taylor Kitsch, Eric Bana, Ben Foster and Emile Hirsch star in director Peter Berg's latest war docudrama, Lone Survivor. The film is based on a the memoirs of Wahlberg's character, U.S.Navy Seal (now former) and Navy Cross recipient, Marcus Luttrell, who published his story in the 2007 book, Lone Survivor: The Eyewitness Account of Operation Redwing and the Lost Heroes of SEAL Team 10.

It is said that while filming the 2012 film, Battleship, Berg followed up on Luttrell's story as a passion project that motivated him to write a screenplay for the film, which will be distributed for Universal Pictures.

Lone Survivor is set for a select release on December 27, 2013 before a wider theatrical release on January 10, 2014.

Based on the failed mission "Operation Red Wing" which tasked four members of SEAL Team 10 on June 28, 2005 to kill Taliban leader Ahmad Shah. They were quickly compromised and under attack, Marcus Luttrell being the only memb…

Slapstick Comedy Sets Up An Epic Kung Fu Adventure In The New Trailer For KUNG FU DIVAS

What do you get when you take two beauty queens and throw them in a bitter contest for the crown? That's the story director Onat Diaz tells in his latest kung fu comedy, Kung Fu Divas. A kung fu comedy production straight from two rival television networks in the Philippines, the film stars popular leading ladies AiAi de las Alas and Marian Rivera as bitter pageant contestants who suddenly find themselves as unwitting allies in a battle between good versus evil.

Lots of CGI and wirework seem to be involved, but the trailer looks promising enough that the film will deliver an outright charming, quirky, delightful and action-packed comedy that martial arts fams and Stephen Chow fans, or Chow himself, smile with enjoyment. And with a teaser having initially aired earlier this year, the new trailer below may even garner your attention. And if I may say so myself, the dual Tagalog/English dialogue is quite welcoming!

Marian Rivera and AiAi de las Alas also produced the film along with …

Director Sono Sion's latest new piece of film continues to bring even more levels of sick, twisted, dark comedy and violence with a new trailer for Why Don't You Play In Hell?. The new trailer is pure, classic Japanese action and comedy with unrelenting execution and outrageous whimsicality and ridiculousness that you will either love or hate. Either way, it looks freaking genius!

Japan will get a chance to see it starting September 28, 2013, and I cannot wait until it makes its way overseas, as it looks like it will make a great start for my own introduction into this filmmaker's work, going into the upcoming release of Tokyo Tribes next year. Take a look at trailer at the bottom of the page and be excited.

Muto (Jun Kunimura) and Ikegami (Shinichi Tsutsumi) are two gangsters who hate each other, but Ikegami is in love with Muto's actress daughter Michiko (Fumi Nikaido). Meanwhile, Muto attempts to make his wife Shizue's (Tomochika) dream come true which…

When Victor's existence is finally made public, he becomes a target and unwittingly swept into a war he wanted no part of. And with time running out, Victor has only one choice left: to use the one true weapon in his arsenal and become the hero that mankind needs.

Epitaph: Bread And Salt was originally inspired by Nathyn's pursuit to write a novel about an African American demon hunter. Unfortunately the release of Wesley Snipes vampire killing thriller, Blade, eased the gas o…

Jamie Foxx Is In Comic Book Movie Mode, In 'Aggressive Pursuit' To Play SPAWN

For a matter of about more than a decade now, comic book author and creator Todd MacFarlane expressed his anticipation on actively developing a feature-length return of the character Spawn to the big screen, having progressed into the talk of making a lower budgeted, closely managed sequel with a darker-toned vision suitable for an R-rating, compared to its 1997 predecesor from director Mark A.Z. Dippé. This year, it seems now that with the heightened popularity and success of Django Unchained, White House Down and The Amazing Spider-Man 2 star, actor Jamie Foxx, MacFarlane's Image Comics property is back in the headlines, and hitting heavy with a recent statement from the actor who recently spoke to about the project, telling Erik Davis the following: "There's a couple of them, Spawn…is one, yeah, and uh, Mike Tyson. Those are two roles that I would just love to, you know, get down with." Foxx went on to add that he is "aggressively pursuing" bo…

Filmmaker Ross Boyask's latest labor of love, Warrioress,  will make its Japanese rental debut this Friday on August 2, 2013. The bold, independently completed feature-length fantasy action adventure is also set to make its debut at the Action On Film Festival this month as it continues to seek attention from distributors.

Post production on Warrioress has been several years in the making, as it has already earned a few screenings among lucky viewers, and I have to say, I am ardently jealous of everyone else who has already seen it. The film looks organic, lively, thrilling and brilliant, with lots of beauty and plentiful with enough screenfighting athleticism to satisfy any martial arts action fan. Needless to say, I know Japan is in for a real treat.

Warrioress is co-written and directed by actress, martial arts impressario and Pencak Silat expert Cecily Fay who also stars and produces, as well as choreographs the action with acclaimed stunt performer and coordinator, Joey Ansa…

FOX's 'Family Guy' Takes A Live-Action Twist In The New Short Adaptation, EPIC CHICK FIGHT

Filmmaker Leo Kei Angelos is out with a new inspired look into one of the most memorable features of the hit animated TV series, Family Guy, starring stunt actress Tree O'Toole, along with co-star Jessie Graff who headed the project.

The good news is, if you have been sticking with the show long enough to understand the comedic shock value, hilarity and spectacle the show brings, then you are probably already familiar with the epic fight that occur between the lead character, Peter Griffin (O'Toole), and Ernie (Graff), a life-sized, conniving, violent chicken. This week, Angelos's latest crowdfunded project takes you on that very same journey through a live-action installation, delivering the classic, explosive, perilous, brutally comedic, bone breaking, head bashing, public property damaging action emanated from Seth McFarlane's highly successful creation with the help of none other than the Best Of The Best himself, stunt coordinator Simon Rhee designing the marvelo…

Film Of The Week: THE WOLVERINE (2013)

Based on the celebrated comic book arc, The Wolverine finds Logan, the eternal warrior and outsider, in Japan. There, samurai steel will clash with adamantium claw as Logan confronts a mysteriousfigure from his past in an epic battle that will leave him forever changed.

One of the best things I can possibly say about the longstanding X-Men film franchise, is how it has remained mostly consistent over the years. I largely put this on the count of some really brilliant acting and screenwriting, put forth in a setting I almost never thought I would see as a live-action property. The amount of creativity it takes to help bring this comic book story to life is such that it's definitely a challenge, especially when fans so desperately want to see a good film that reflects so heavy on their favorite lifelong heroes. For actor Hugh Jackman, it is a challenge he willingly and wholeheartedly accepts in director James Mangold's The Wolverine, and it more than a decade lat…

Director Jim Taihuttu Sets The Stage For Crime, Drama And Suspense In The New Trailer For WOLF

Marwan Kenzari, Chems Eddine AmarNasrdin Dchar, Bo MaertenRaymond Thiry and Cahit Ölmez star in a new multilingual crime thriller titled Wolf. Produced by the Netherlands-based production company, Habbekrats, the film is the second feature by award-winning writer/director Jim Tahuttu whose crowining achievement as a rising filmmaker have mostly been in the area of shortfilms since 2007 before his first feature-length co-directorial work with Victor Ponten on the 2011 film, Rabat.

Based on the synopsis, the film seems to carry a narrative similar to other films in that its protagonist is a gifted fighting athlete who may be in over his head. However, I really do admire the gritty, mature, dark, noir setting that our director has set up here. Plus it's got some pretty neat-looking action sequences courtesy of stunt/fight coordinator Simon van Lammeren.
Twitch shared this earlier Friday, and I loved the title enough to check out the trailer. And considering I enjoy a variety of f…

The New Trailer For TOM YUM GOONG 2 Is OFFICALLY Online!

It took a bit of time, but now we have an offiical new trailer for the upcoming October release for director Prachya Pinkaew's latest Thai martial arts adventure, Tom Yum Goong 2. Most netizens eager to see footage from the film were more than happy when an unofficial, dim, low-quality, company watermarked trailer was leaked online a few months ago, which may have already spoiled the surprise that awaited fans of Pinkaew's signature style of Thai action filmmaking. Thankfully this appears not to have had a highly negative affect among most critics.

Filming for Tom Yum Goong 2had its share of stops and starts over the last few years, including run-ins with mother nature, returning action star Tony Jaa's on-set injury and subsequent marriage to his fiancè, in addition to action actress Jeeja Yanin's pregnancy, to name a few. Needless to say, the new, OFFICIAL trailer below is a nothing short of an absolute promise that the film is well on its way to wow audiences who have…

[UPDATED] BLOODSPORT Reboots In 2014, KICKBOXER Also Set For A Reboot

It's been a few years since we have heard anything follow up from the announcements that the 1988 film, Bloodsport would get a revamp from Relativity Media, to be produced by Edward R. Pressman. Reports are now circulating that James McTeigue will direct helm the film in Austrailia as of Spring 2014, focusing on the life mercenaries who collide with the world of underground Brazilian Vale Tudo fighting, where it is just as what the name means: Anything goes. McTeigue's credits include, but are not limited to, the 2009 action adventure, Ninja Assassin, and the 2005 futuristic thriller, V For Vendetta.

The film was previously announced back in 2011 with a story by Taken writer Robert Mark Kamen and Salt helmer Phillip Noyce about an American who escapes to Brazil to help deal with the violence in Afghanistan. That story has been re-written by scribe Craig Rosenburg under McTeigue's supervision. It was also confirmed that much like the recently announced Timecop reboot, acto…

Michael B. Jordan Gets His 'Eye Of The Tiger' Role In CREED!

Actor Michael B. Jordan has been the talk of the town since the highly underrated release of the 2012 found-footage sci-fi teen superhero drama, Chronicle. Highly regarded for his amazing on-screen presence in TV and film, Jordan's name has been tossed through the superhero movie hemisphere from rumors of a role as Johnny Storm in the upcoming reboot of Fantastic Four, to the somewhat-serious mention of a romantic pairing with Spider-Man as a new take on the character, M.J..

Surely enough, it is a bright and bold sign that Jordan's career has taken off in solid fashion, especially while off the heels of a stellar performance from the same actor/director duo for their multi-festival award winning film, Fruitvale Station, featuring Jordan's biographical portrayal of tragic events that led to the tragic police shooting of unarmed victim, Oscar Grant, back in 2009.

Today's reporting from Deadline states that the actor is set to star in a prestigious role for an upcoming M…

Witches, Samurais And Fantasy Swordplay In The New Trailer For 47 RONIN

Well, that didn't take long, as Universal Pictures just released four new character posters for director Carl Rinsch's upcoming fantasy swordplay action adventure, 47 Ronin. The 3D feature film took a few years to make between heavy reshoots and much-needed added shots that ultimately exceeded the film's budget, so hopefully the film's delivery will be spectacular enough to woo audiences and make its money back.

The film opens in 2D and 3D this Christmas on December 25, 2013, and stars Man Of Tai Chi director and actor Keanu Reeves as an outsider who becomes the last hope of a band of samurai warriors looking to take out a monstrous evil. Reeves is joined by Asian cinema legend and action favorite Hiroyuki Sanada who will be seen clashing blades with Hugh Jackman this weekend in The Wolverine. Pacific Rim co-star and actress Rinko Kikuchi, along with the Shaolin Girl herself, actress Kô Shibasaki, and Battleship co-star Tadanobu Asano round out the cast of this explo…

Donnie Yen Kicks HD Ass In The New Cantonese Trailer Re-Release For SPECIAL ID

Donnie Yen lit this week on fire with his latest new Mandarin-language teaser trailer for Special ID. Now there is a second "uncensored" HD trailer online for Hong Kong audiences, and though there really is no noticeable difference between the two versions, there are only a few audio edit changes, including the removal of the sound that plays when actress Tian Jing points her gun at some poor schmuck's junk, in addition to Cantonese audio throughout.

Other than that, nothing has been added or removed, footage-wise, just the same montage of Yen-flavored MMA-stylized hard-hitting grit and action that we have all come to know and love throughout his career, along with some "personality" to boot. Only this time, in HD. But while it may be the same trailer, who am I to pass up another write up on this long-awaited gem? Right?
Special ID is directed by Clarence Fok and stars Yen and Jing along with Andy On, Collin Chou, Hanyu Zhang, Qi Daji, Kun Yang and Ken Lo, with …
